Yako Wijnands

Yako Wijnands is Vice President, Global HyCO Project Delivery, at Air Products. He leads the company’s HyCO Project Delivery Organization and is accountable for leading end‑to‑end project development, engineering and project delivery—covering strategy, organization design, bid development, and execution—while ensuring safe, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery of projects worldwide.

Mr. Wijnands joined Air Products in 1988 as a participant in the company’s Career Development Program. He started his career in Europe holding various plant management positions as well as roles in energy procurement and project management. He has held various global senior leadership positions in operations, technical management and ERP implementation including the role of Global Operations Technical Support Manager – Generated Gases, Director of Operations at CryoInfra, Mexico, and Director of the Global Operational Excellence team, based in the United States. In his previous role he was the Vice President – Operations of NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, which is a three-way Joint Venture between Air Products, ACWA and NEOM in Saudi Arabia, building and operating the world’s largest green hydrogen facility, where he was accountable to setting the operating and maintenance team, infrastructure and systems.

Mr. Wijnands holds a B.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering from Surrey University, UK.
